William was born on March 19,1935, in Racine, Wi. to William P. Bislew and Evelyn Verbeten Bislew, the oldest of nine children. He attended St. Joseph Grade School, St.Catherine High School, class of 1954, and Dominican College, Racine, class of 1965. He earned a BA in accounting. He married Carole Kriva,on June 10,1961 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Racine.

William and Carole had three children - Anthony, Racine, in 1962, Regina Ball, Torrance, CA, in 1964, and Dr. Ann Jones, Appleton, in 1970.

William served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957, William worked as a computer programmer at various Racine companies until he burned out in the 80’s. He then worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as a courier for 15 years, eventually becoming the courier leader. After an illness, he went to work for Educators Credit Union (car division) as a driver for several years. He retired in 2007.

He and Carole were members of St. Rita’s Parish, then Holy Name until 2001 when they joined St. Lucy’s Parish.

Bill loved the outdoors, putzing in the yard with his 80 or more hostas. He and Carole drove their trusty old 1993 Toyota Camry wagon all over Wisconsin, to every small town. His favorite was Fish Creek in Door County. They also enjoyed the old County Stadium as Brewer season ticket holders since 1998. Although the new stadium had a roof, it wasn’t the same. He liked a Packer game on TV, too.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Carole, children: Anthony (Renee, whom he considered his "fourth child"), Regina (Kevin) Ball and Dr. Ann (Derek) Jones; his four granddaughters were his “harem”: Olivia and Grace Jones and Annie and Lily Ball. Also surviving are siblings John, Virginia, Edna, Helen, Larry, Karen, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding him to heaven were his parents, William and Evelyn, Carole’s parents, Anton and Anna Kriva, siblings Edith Schuster and Rosemary Verhagen.

Bill had private funeral rites, family only, with taps and 21-gun salute. Donations in his name can be directed to St. Lucy Parish, Veterans Outreach, or Cops’NKids.
